SCHOLARSHIP

Supporting the academic journey of students in linn & Johnson county

Two (2) Festival Latino Scholarships, in the amount of $1,000 will be awarded to high school seniors (college or trade school bound) or currently enrolled college students pursuing a degree at a two or four-year accredited college/university in the State of Iowa.

The application deadline is June 30, 2025! Don’t miss your chance to receive financial aid and apply today! Scholarship winners will be recognized at the Festival Latino on September 13, 2025. Attendance is encouraged to receive the award.

LUCI - 2024 Festival Latino Scholarship Recipients
  • Any student attending a high school in Iowa who will be attending college or trade school after graduation is eligible to apply. Currently enrolled college students pursuing a degree at a two or four-year accredited college/university are also eligible.  Students must be attending high school, trade school, or college in the State of Iowa.

    • Students must be from Hispanic/Latino background

    • Must be a high school graduating senior or currently enrolled college student

    • Must be pursuing a degree at an accredited two-four-year institution or trade school

    • Financial need must be explained

    • The student must be in good standing. A GPA of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale is desirable

    • Official transcripts (High School and College, if applicable)

    • Recommendation letter from a Counselor or Academic Advisor is required

    • A letter of acceptance to an accredited school shall be provided

    • Three essays found in the application, half a page each (200-300 words), shall be completed

    • Scholarship winners should plan to attend the Latino Festival on September 13th, 2025 (11:00am-6:00pm) to assist the Planning Committee and consent to make a short “impact” statement.

  • Please complete the 2025 application form to apply for the Festival Latino Scholarship and submit by June 30, 2025. Scholarship funds will be sent directly to the school that the student will be attending or is currently attending. Late applications will not be accepted.

Join us for a series of fundraising events to support the Festival Latino Scholarship! Participating local restaurants and businesses are donating a percentage of their proceeds toward our scholarship fund, helping us empower high school seniors to pursue their academic dreams.

How You Can Support:
